For TV viewers like me who still haven’t cut the cord, here is a selection of cable and network shows, movies and specials broadcasting Monday through Sunday, March 18-24. Details and times are subject to change.
Monday
AN OPRAH SPECIAL: SHAME, BLAME AND THE WEIGHT LOSS REVOLUTION 8 p.m. on ABC. For the past year, any large grouping of celebrities (think: the Oscars or the Met Gala) has prompted a conversation about Ozempic, a drug that, along with like Wegovy and Mounjaro, was traditionally used to treat diabetes but has now become a weight-loss trend for the glitterati. In this special, Oprah Winfrey sits down with doctors to discuss the benefits of these drugs, particularly in combating the obesity epidemic in the United States, and their potential misuses.
THE BACHELOR: WOMEN TELL ALL 9 p.m. on ABC. Maria Georgas, who didn’t receive a rose from Joey Graziadei after he met her family in Ontario, Canada, has quickly become a Bachelor Nation favorite. Though we don’t know how the season will end or whom Joey will ultimately choose, I am confident that scene-stealing Maria will continue to make great television.
Tuesday
THE VALLEY 9 p.m. on Bravo. If you were watching the latest season of “Vanderpump Rules” and asked, where the heck are Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright and Kristen Doute, I have the answer for you: They left West Hollywood and moved to the Valley. This new Bravo show features the former “Vanderpump Rules” cast members and their new friends as they settle into a more domestic lifestyle in the suburbs. We know that Taylor and Cartwright are currently separated, so it will be interesting to see if this show gives any clues about what went wrong in their relationship.
Wednesday
TOP CHEF 9 p.m. on Bravo. Even if you aren’t the best in the kitchen, there is something soothing about watching other people cook delicious-looking meals. For the 21st season of this series, the host Kristen Kish and the judges Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons head to Wisconsin, where the chefs competing will show off the best food that Milwaukee has to offer — which I hope includes some deep-fried cheese curds.
Thursday
HOUSE HUNTERS: ALL STARS 8 p.m. on HGTV. We had “Love Island,” “The Challenge,” and now — because 2024 is shaping up to be the year of “all star” specials — we have “House Hunters.” This series borrows HGTV celebrities from their usual shows and follows them closing deals on their home turfs. I can’t wait to see the former “Selling Sunset” star Heather Rae El Moussa stage a Southern Californian mansion.
Friday
WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (1989) 6:45 p.m. on IFC. Some argue that this is a fall movie or a New Year’s Eve movie, but really it’s a year-round movie because, with each viewing, you can learn a valuable life lesson, like how to order a restaurant meal exactly as you want it. Come for the cozy ’90s outfit inspiration, and stay for the “I’ll have what she’s having” scene.
PAST LIVES (2023) 8 p.m. on Showtime. Though this movie didn’t take home any Oscars, it is still worth a watch; our film critic Manohla Dargis called it “a tale of friendship, love, regret and what it means to truly live here and now,” marking it as a critic’s pick. The story follows Nora (Greta Lee) and Hae Sung (Teo Yoo), who first meet as schoolmates in Seoul and then meet up again as adults.
Saturday
WORLD FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS 8 p.m. on NBC. If you binged the Netflix drama “Spinning Out” and wished there were a season two, the biggest competition in the skating world can aid with that TV longing. In Montreal, skaters from more than 50 countries will compete in at least one of the four categories: men, women, pairs and ice dance.
RAMY YOUSSEF: MORE FEELINGS 10 p.m. on HBO. We got to know the comedian Ramy Youssef from his recent role in “Poor Things” and his acclaimed semi-autobiographical series “Ramy.” Now he’s using this stand-up special to talk more about his experience growing up as a Muslim and Egyptian American as well as touch on the upcoming election and the importance of prayer.
Sunday
SUMMER HOUSE: MARTHA’S VINEYARD 9 p.m. on Bravo. Imagine my delight when I found out there would be two concurrent seasons of “Summer House,” the show where a handful of Bravo-lebrities rent a house in the Hamptons, airing at the same time. Now viewers will be able to see the cast of the Martha’s Vineyard version head to the Oak Bluffs area to party and argue.
